Regular headsets wire the cell phone from plug to ear piece directly with the very sensitive ear area. Easy to use:

Insert the plug of the headset to  the jack on your cell phone. Place the ear-hook on your right or left ear and adjust so that the hook rests comfortably over your ear. You can adjust the length of the hook and also move the swivel.

If you are in a place with a high level of background noise you may clip the microphone on your shirt
slightly below your mouth.You may plug or unplug the headset without disconnecting the call.
